What does this tool do?
A duplicate line remover reads your list line by line, keeps the first copy of every line, and removes every repeat that comes after it. It is the fastest way to clean a messy list before you use it — for example before importing email addresses into a mailing tool, merging keyword lists for SEO, or tidying names, product codes, or URLs collected from different files.
How to use it
- Paste your list into the left box, with one item on each line.
- Choose your options. "Ignore case" treats Apple and apple as the same line. "Ignore extra spaces" treats lines that differ only by spaces as the same. "Remove empty lines" deletes blank lines, and "Sort A to Z" orders the result alphabetically.
- Your clean list appears on the right instantly, as you type. The counters show how many lines went in, how many duplicates were removed, and how many lines are left.
- Click "Copy Result" to copy the clean list, or "Download .txt" to save it as a file.
Is my text private?
Yes. This tool runs completely in your web browser using JavaScript. Nothing you paste is sent to a server, saved, or shared. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool will still work.
Frequently asked questions
Does it keep the original order of my list?
Yes. By default the first copy of each line stays in its original place. If you turn on "Sort A to Z", the result is sorted alphabetically instead.
What counts as a duplicate?
A line that is exactly the same as an earlier line. With "Ignore case" on, lines that differ only in capital letters also count as duplicates. With "Ignore extra spaces" on, extra spaces at the start or end of a line are ignored when lines are compared — the line that is kept is shown exactly as you typed it the first time.
