Why does copied text have extra spaces?
PDFs and some word processors justify text by stretching the spaces between words, and web pages hide invisible spacing characters inside paragraphs. When you copy that text, the extra spaces come with it. They look untidy, break searches, and can even change how forms and spreadsheets read your data. This tool removes them in one pass — and only the ones you choose.
How to use it
- Paste your text into the left box.
- Tick the fixes you want. The defaults handle the common cases: double spaces, tabs, and trailing spaces.
- The clean text appears on the right, with a count of exactly how many characters were removed.
- Copy the result and paste it back where it belongs.
Frequently asked questions
Will it change my words or spelling?
Never. This tool only touches spaces, tabs and blank lines. Your words stay exactly as you wrote them.
What does "trim spaces at line ends" mean?
It removes spaces sitting at the start or end of each line, which often appear after copying from documents and emails.
